2025: Design trends that you will want to know about.

As a new year begins, so too do fresh perspectives that inspire us to transform our homes. Whether you are designing a new home or giving your lounge room a refresh, the below trends may give you some new ideas to consider.

Bold Earthy Tones

This year, colour is stepping into the spotlight, with rich earthy tones making their way into interiors, adding personality and energy. Colours like deep burgundy, navy blue, terracotta, and saturated greens will be prominent.

Regal Reds

According to leading paint supplier Dulux, rich reds featuring brown and purple tones – think burgundy, mulberry and wine – are set to be a strong colour direction for 2025.

Open Kitchen Shelves

With many of us collecting pretty serveware, kitchen items and ceramics, open kitchen shelving is ideal for putting these pieces on display and making them part of the décor.

The Dark Side

Dark timber is making a major comeback in 2025, signalling a shift away from the lighter oaks and pale finishes that have dominated recent years. Get ready for the return of dark mahogany or rich walnut tones, thanks to the embrace of vintage and antiques.

Shower Rooms

The shower room style of shower has a glass door leading into a fully enclosed space that creates an intimate, spa-like look and feel. And the beauty of this type of shower is the ability to incorporate such features as a steam or sauna, as well as aromatherapy.

Colour Drenching

Colour drenching isn’t going anywhere. The trend, which refers to painting a whole room the same color from top to bottom—including ceilings, moldings, and trim—first appeared in 2023, but got a second lease of life this year with an offshoot known as “double drenching.” The same rules apply for the latter, only, in this case, a room is completely painted in two different colors, rather than just one.

Bold and Bespoke

In 2025 we will see the return of bold colours and big statements. Rich, moody palettes and unexpected material pairings will bring refreshing boldness. Rooms will tell a unique story, individual to the owner. An exciting trend for LPB, as bespoke homes are our passion.
